Revortmanteau of the day
Shattuck, one of the major avenues of Berkeley, could have arisen from “Shut the fuck up”, condensed and rearranged and Bostonly accented. (I’m imagining pronouncing it like “shaddap”, but with the final “p” replaced with a “ck”.)

One of the most important things my five days in Spain taught me is that whenever I’m learning the basics of a language I portmanteau the FUCK out of it.
“What is this?” = “Que es eso?” —> “Queso?” = “Cheese?”
“Red river” = “Rio roja” —> “Rioja” = A region in Spain known for its wine
